I love anything that’s green, good cheese and bread, any kind of chocolate and watching football.

I also am about to embark on a huge personal challenge. One might think that I could be comfortably resting on my laurels, having just completed my goal of losing nearly 100 pounds (98.2, to be exact. I’m hoping I might make 100, just for the fun of it). But this is a scary time for me, because the REAL challenge will be in keeping it off. I have lost and gained significant amounts of weight at least four times in my young 42 years and I can’t do it again.

I do so well with goals and challenges. I lost my weight over the last 18 months through the Weight Watchers program (the accountability of weighing in each week and group reinforcement was very motivating) but I think the the most important thing I did was haul my butt to the gym and begin working out almost every day. It was so hard at first, it can be really intimidating and daunting to be unfit and overweight in a gym. But I hung in there, and I always challenged myself to work a little bit harder and faster each day. I now am completely addicted to my gym time. My biggest gym passions are running and strength training. I am so grateful for my body, that I have the ability to run, dance, play–it adds so much joy to my life.

My wish for starting this blog (yes, I am a blog virgin) is that it will inspire me to stay focused on fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I would love to come up with some new goals and challenges that will ensure that NONE of those 98.2 pounds finds their way back to me…ever.
