I have started taking a yoga/pilates class once a week in addition to my cardio and strength training regimen. After the first class, I was amazed at how much I was looking forward to the next one. I can’t quite put my finger on why it makes me feel so good, I think it is the emphasis on the mind-body connection. I feel so relaxed and re-energized afterwards. My favorite part, of course, is the 10 minute mediation at the end in corpse pose. I feel like I’m doing a much better job of rounding out and balancing my fitness training and also working on skills that elude me such as coordination and balance.
